New Jersey Board of Education adding eight seasonal sabbats?

Rumour has it that the New Jersey Board of Education may be adding eight Wiccan/Pagan holidays to their official calendar. Sources claim that a letter writing campaign began in December of ’09 after a student in a Salem County school was denied an excused day off for Yule. The policy is expected to be adopted next month at the March BoE meeting. I will be watching this story closely as it develops.
