Oscars Hangover

Well, the Academy Awards have come and gone for another year. James Camerons “Avatar” did not take Best Picture, as so many had predicted. His ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow, however, did exceptionally well, taking home “Best Picture”, as well as the “Directing” Oscar for “The Hurt Locker”.   Ouch…, It was fun to watch the “battle of the exes”.

While it was great to see the fabulously wealthy hollywood folks take home trophies, I was pleased that “Food Inc” got a nomination in the Documentary Feature category. This a great film, but grab a burger BEFORE you sit down to this one!

Now, switching from the wildly popular “Pagan… if you really push it” film Avatar to a film about an historic, and heroic Pagan, there is still no North American release date for the much anticipated “Agora”. Other than dates for “everywhere else”, this film, if ever released here, should prove to be a hit.
