BELTAINE FAIRE 2012

Saturday, April 28th

11:00am-5pm

Ritchie Hall

Here is the “official” schedule of events for this year’s Edmonton Beltaine Faire;

The Faire will open to the public at 11:00am, with a ‘Grounds Blessing’ and Parade. All are welcome to join in… where your masks, your wings, your shining armour, and help celebrate!

Edmonton’s favourite Shaman, Kriket, will then be leading the drum circle- bring your drums!

The CWAA then offers the “May Queen Ritual”, a Beltaine Favourite, with the Knights of the Northern Realm providing the Champions!

You can see more of the Knights of the Northern Realm as they show us their trade, and you can even grab a weapon, and join them in battle!

The Spirit Lantern Group will be leading a May Pole Dance, a tradition that goes back to 16th century Western Europe, possibly longer, and represents fertility rites.

At the end of the day, organizers will be announcing the winners of the Silent Auction.

As always, the Beltaine Faire is a FREE FAMILY EVENT, open to all. Come out and and enjoy the festivities, as Edmonton’s only Renaisance-style Faire, this is an event not to be missed!

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE…
